As previously reported the future of Sergio Gadea in the Aspar Team was yet unclear. Now it’s been confirmed that Sergio will not continue with Team Aspar and instead move up to Moto2 next season with another team.
On Angel Nieto’s Blog Sergio is quoted that he is immensely grateful for the team, having given him the possibility to win races. He’d like to thank the team for six incredible years, but he feels like a change of air is the right move now.
This appears to confirm our theory that Aspar will continue with only two bikes in 125cc and Moto2 each next season, to focus also on the new MotoGP project with Hector Barbera.
We’d like to wish Sergio all the best for his personal and professional future and hope he will have a successful first year in Moto2, even when it is without the Aspar Team.
I think he needs a change of scenary! He’s been with Aspar longer than I can remember!
It’ll be interesting to see how he goes in Moto2. It’s gonna be a lot of fun next year!
