It seems that Aprilia is about to withdraw from the Moto2 chassis project and instead focus on their current WSBK and a possible future MotoGP effort.
This would leave Aspar and four other Moto2 teams suddenly without a chassis supplier.
Jorge Martinez has been very critical about Aprilia’s plans, saying that it would be a mistake to cancel their Moto2 project, because it would be the perfect test for their possible entry in the MotoGP class later. Not to mention that Aspar and the other teams already counted on the chassis being available for their next test at Valencia on 9th December.
It is yet unknown if the test will still take place when Aprilia finally decides to pull out of Moto2. The decision could still be made this week.
Other chassis options for the team would be Moriwaki and Suter, Martinez said.
