It seems that Jorge Martinez’ efforts to work with the already produced Aprilia Moto2 chassis even after Aprilia announced their withdrawal from the class didn’t work out and the Aprilia project appears to be completely buried now.
What is certain is that there will be no Aprilia appearing at the Valencia test on December 9th and 10th. And following Gigi Dall’Igna’s earlier statements this means almost certainly no chances for the Aprilia Moto2 to ever find its way on the race track.
Instead the Aspar Moto2 Team with 125cc world champions Julian Simon and Mike Di Meglio will test with BQR machines at the Valencia track on Wednesday and Thursday. The team will try to find and announce the best chassis option until next week.
Also testing at Valencia will be former Bancaja Aspar rider Sergio Gadea who will make his debut on the Kalex Moto2 bike. He is the prime candidate to take the No. 1 position in the Pons Moto2 team next season.
