At 7pm last night the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum in Valencia played host to the official presentation of the Aspar Team for 2010, the 30th anniversary season of the Spanish team. For Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’ it was not just a team presentation but the culmination of a dream, as he prepares to launch a triple assault on the World Championship, with riders in every category. This dream would remain an impossible one if it weren’t for the close collaboration of the team’s latest new sponsor Páginas Amarillas.

Following a gala to celebrate the anniversary of Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’ and his racing project masters of ceremony Ainhoa Arbizu and Valentín Requena moved on to the official presentation of the Páginas Amarillas Aspar Team, which will contest the MotoGP World Championship for the first time. The brand new Ducati Desmosedici GP10 that Héctor Barberá will ride in his rookie premier class season was unveiled before the Spaniard addressed the press, alongside Bruno Porchietto, General Director of Marketing for Páginas Amarillas, and Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’ himself.

Bruno Porchietto:
“On behalf of Yell Publicidad, we would like to offer our heartfelt congratulations to Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’ on thirty years of professional success in the world of motorcycle racing. We are very proud to have been able to share this emotional landmark with him and that Páginas Amarillas now forms part of the present and the future of this project, starting out with what we hope will be a first season full of success.”

Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’:
“Seeing such a large, competitive and tight team is in many ways the tip of the iceberg of what we have achieved over the last thirty years – three decades of non-stop growth. I hope that we are battling to retain the title in 125, I’d also like to be fighting to win it Moto2, even though it is a new category, and in MotoGP it would be great if we could finish in the top ten at the end of the year. Either way, we are very excited by this wonderful project that we are carrying forward.”

Héctor Barberá:
“Making my debut in MotoGP is a dream and soon it will be a reality. This season is going to be tough because the level in this class is very high but I am going to be working hard to finish as high as possible. Everything I have right now is in part thanks to Jorge, who has put together a winning team and has put his faith in me. The hard and high quality work he is known for is reflected in his team and that helps to attract the best sponsors, such as Páginas Amarillas, who are going to join us on this new adventure. I want to express my gratitude to both Jorge and Páginas Amarillas and I can assure them I will do all I can to repay their faith with results.”
